Learn a range of treatments from facials and nail art to skin care and waxing. You will also develop your skills in body massage. Learn about anatomy and physiology and how this relates to various treatments. You will develop your customer service and retail skills in our salon reception. You may then choose to progress onto either the Beauty Therapy or Nails route at Level 3.

How will the course be assessed?
You will be assessed through a variety of methods including online testing, assignments, practical assessments in a real working environment and working on reception.
As part of the programme you will compete in the College’s annual Hair and Beauty Show. You will also visit trade shows and industry exhibitions.
Distinction Hair and Beauty has three large, stylish and spacious Beauty Salons, which are tranquil and relaxing places to work.
They are fully commercial salons, visited by the general public and you will consequently gain real-life work experience whilst achieving your qualifications.
All our salons are equipped with up-to-date industry standard equipment.
Materials and other information
Students will need to purchase the salon uniform and a beauty kit at a cost of £300.
In order to succeed on this course, you must demonstrate the ability to communicate with a variety of people and possess the desire to provide excellent customer service
Progression and Careers
Successful completion of the Level 2 programme can lead on to Level 3 qualification.
The majority of our Beauty Therapy students go on to gain full-time work within the industry, working for local salons, hotel and day spas and even on-board luxury cruise liners.
You may also progress to university to study a range of degree programmes available in Make-up and Media Industries.
The College also works with salons and spas to offer Apprenticeships in Beauty Therapy.
Meet Claire Chapman
After leaving College Claire travelled to Queenstown in New Zealand working as a Beauty Therapist. Claire plans on travelling to Australia then South America to gain more valuable experience.
