Visits may include the Museum of Childhood in Leeds and the World Museum in Liverpool. The Childcare department is close knit and you will have the chance to join more social visits such as shopping trips and a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Students have also had the opportunity to work alongside creative experts, such as puppet and origami workshops. We have close links with a local children’s centre who allow students to visit and find out about the services offered. The deputy manager also comes in to College to conduct mock interviews to help students in their search for employment towards the end of the course.

Our Childcare classrooms are bright, fun spaces which reflect the industry you are working in.

Materials and other information

You will be required to purchase a uniform for placement, plus text books. You will also need to pay for a DBS clearance check which allows you to complete the work placement element of your course.
