18:00 to 20:30
9 week course
This course is designed to widen your vocabulary and develop fluency in the relevant language. This will enable you to proactively initiate and participate in wide-ranging communications in speech and in writing. This includes for example the ability to express alternatives using the conditional tense, making less likely hypotheses (if I won the lottery, I would retire), listen to and elicit key information from written and aural articles from authentic sources, summarise and report on given information verbally and aurally, and express doubt, wish, uncertainty and hesitation. Through the study of authentic sources, you will deepen your knowledge of and connection to the countries and culture in which the language is spoken. Some courses will require the purchase of some learning material.
How long is the course?
The course is 2.5 hours per session and is delivered for 10 weeks
What will I learn?
During this course you will be developing four key skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. There will be great emphasis on interaction. The course will give you the opportunity to practise your language skills with an experienced and supportive teacher. You will improve your knowledge and confidence while learning along with like-minded people.
How will the course be assessed?
Learners attend via the online platform Zoom on a set day and time. The sessions will be delivered live and learners will be supported to work through the course content. In addition to this, learners will be given access to Moodle (VLE – Virtual Learning Environment) so activities can be completed during and between sessions to record progress and achievement.
