Lancashire is rightly proud to boast some of the best produce and most favoured dishes from all of the UK – And we are Lancastrians through and through! We ensure that all our food is in season and locally sourced, fully supporting the ‘fork to fork’ philosophy of knowing where our food comes from. We can trace much of our food back to the farm it was reared or grown!

All dishes are freshly prepared with an eye to detail and we regularly welcome some of the region’s top chefs to lead special services; including BBC’s Great British Menu chef Nigel Howarth, who opened our new restaurant in 2009.

“In November, 2009, you kindly published an article headed “Excellent Cuisine” in response to the overwhelming satisfaction of myself, wife and close friends after dining in the Farrington Restaurant at Nelson and Colne College.

The enjoyment at that time made us repeat the experience on many occasions since, the latest being on Thursday, March 3rd.

The exacting standards remain the same, food being served possessing quality, style, politeness - the attributes of many top eating establishments.

This once again deserves acknowledging and recognition which reflects praise for the college’s catering personnel students, staff and tutors - all may be well remunerated. Jamie Oliver should take note of such facilities in East Lancashire.
