English and Maths

By improving your skills and gaining qualifications in English and Maths you will enhance your job prospects, improve your confidence and get ahead in life. Learning can be fun – give it a go!

We will ensure that our English and Maths courses meet your individual needs. Before you start a programme with us you will meet one of our specialist advisers who will take you through a short assessment and find the right course for you.

We offer a wide range of programmes from Entry Level to Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE) and are sure to be able to offer you a course which will improve your skills and boost your confidence.

These courses are run throughout the year at venues throughout East Lancashire, including Colne Library, Barnoldswick Library, Grassroots Nelson and the College.

English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)

If English is not your first language, our ESOL classes will help you to improve your English in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Our ESOL courses are flexible to meet your individual needs, offered from Beginners to Advanced Level (Entry 1 - Level 2).

Before you start an ESOL programme with us you will receive an interview and assessment to ensure that you are placed at the correct level to help you progress and achieve.

You can study ESOL on a part-time basis. Part-time classes take place at our College or in a community venue. Some classes are for women only. We offer classes morning, afternoon and evening.

Applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain/British Nationality

New rules are now in place. Our E1-E3 ESOL courses will provide you with the paperwork required to support your application to the Home Office.
