A Levels - Business Studies, Accounting, Economics and Leisure Studies

Business Studies

Business Studies is a dynamic and relevant subject which will show you how businesses approach marketing, finance, production, personnel, management and strategic decision-making. You will look at how factors in the outside world affect business and society.

The course fits well with most other subjects as it includes so many different areas of study. Our aim is to study, in some depth, all the major aspects of the corporate world and the significant factors which influence business performance and success. This is not a dry factual study - we concern ourselves with how real businesses are making decisions today and focus on enterprise and entrepreneurship as real life decisions.

Why choose Business Studies?

Due to its relevance in modern society and the breadth and depth of study, Business Studies is an ideal subject for preparation for many degree programmes. It is also a valuable subject for employment as you will have a firm grounding of the day-to-day running of a business.

Accounting

Choosing to study Accounting will mean that you have the knowledge and skills to be a pivotal decision maker in many businesses.

If you are considering further study in any business-related area, this course will prove invaluable. Gain an understanding of the principles, purposes, terminology, and limitations of accounting. You will learn a range of key accounting skills, and to think and solve problems in a logical way.

Develop awareness of how accounting procedures play a key role in business decision making and how you can gather, interpret and analyse financial data in order to evaluate a business.

Why choose Accounting?

An A Level in Accounting will provide you with the strategic know how to be a key decision maker in your future career. It also provides excellent progression routes to university.

Economics

Studying A Level Economics will give you a broad appreciation of the pressures of working in global markets with increased competition, and the affect this has on business decisions and behaviour.

Economies are affected by many factors, from the small everyday choices consumers make at supermarkets, to the global decisions made in the business world, making this a dynamic option. You will study two areas, microeconomics, which deals with economics from the individual’s perspective and macroeconomics, which looks at the bigger picture before looking at how these systems work together.

Why choose Economics?

This course is great for combining with Mathematics and Business Studies and because Economics provides students with strong analytical skills it is therefore ideal preparation for many university degrees.
