A Levels - History and Geography

AS/A Level History

A better understanding of the past and why events happened as they did can give you a clearer view of today’s events and society, making history a compelling subject to study.

History combines the excitement of exploration and discovery with the sense of reward born of making sense of complex evidence and problems and consequently History is one of the most highly regarded and established of subjects. History is not just based on facts; interpretation of these facts can be just as important and therefore your personal thoughts are needed!

As well as developing vital analytical skills through investigation, interpretation and evaluation of evidence, you will develop expertise in historical skills and acquire knowledge and understanding of historical events and issues.

You will study a number of different historical periods, all chosen to expand and aid your historical understanding of 19th century Europe and 20th century, post-war Britain.
