AS/A2 Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

An A Level in ICT will give students a clear understanding of how and why organisations and individuals use computers and their associated technologies. The course helps students develop project management, organisational, creative and technical ICT skills, using a range of software currently used in commerce and industry.

You will study problem solving, designing programs, programming in visual basic and the fundamentals of structured programming, number systems and coding schemes, stages of development of a hardware/software system, logic gates, boolean algebra and the internal components of a computer, hardware devices and systems, the internet and networking, how computers affect the way we work and live, algorithms and data structures, the role of an operating system, database design and implementation and complete project work based on real business situations.
