How to Apply
Step 1
Attend one of our Open Events. If you need additional advice about the options available, please contact our Student Services team on 01282 440209
Step 2
Complete an application form. This can be a paper copy taken from a prospectus or our School Liaison Team, you can call them on 01282 440370. Full-time application forms are also available from your Careers Teacher, Library or Resource Centre. Alternatively, contact your local Young People’s Service Office (formerly Connexions). You can also apply online using the link below.
Step 3
If you complete a paper application, please send it into College. You should aim to get this done as soon as possible during Year 11 as some courses are extremely popular and fill early!
Step 4
You and your parents will be invited for an interview, which will take place between November and May. It is an informal process and is your chance to ask questions about your chosen subject as well as helping staff to match you with the right programme. If you have a Record of Achievement or Progress File, please bring this with you. If you want to undertake an Art programme, please bring a portfolio of art work.
Step 5
Following a successful interview, you will be offered a place which may be conditional on your exam results. We will invite you to our New Student Days in June. This is a great opportunity to meet your tutors and other new students and take part in a variety of subject activities.
Step 6
Once you have collected your exam results, come along to College so that we can confirm your place and complete your enrolment. Don’t worry if they are not as you expected as experienced staff will be on hand to offer advice and sign you up for an appropriate programme.

Our Open Events are a fantastic opportunity for you to view our campus and meet tutors to find out more about the courses you are interested in. Events run from 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Rose Pashley
Mathematics at the University of Oxford
Former student of Colne Park High School. A Levels: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics and Critical Thinking.
In addition to attending a UCAS event aimed at giving students an insight into the different universities and courses available, Rose has participated in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, which is offered as part of the College’s extra-curricular programme.
A talented Mathematics student who gained 100% in her Maths exams, Rose has worked hard and shown true dedication to her studies, successfully receiving an offer to read Mathematics at the University of Oxford. Rose said, ”Nelson and Colne College is in a different league to other colleges! Everyone is really friendly, eager to learn and helpful. The atmosphere is amazing.”
