Pennine Lancashire has some of the most beautiful landscape and scenery in all of the UK. Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form is situated at the gateway to the picturesque village of Barrowford, in the shadow of iconic Pendle Hill. It is an inspirational, semi-rural location which provides a perfect setting for education.
There are plenty of outside areas, with picnic-benches, which are green and tranquil. They are a particular favourite of our students when the weather is warm and sunny! We also have an extensive playing field which looks out over fields and across Pendle Water, which weaves around our site.
Our campus is purpose built, and lately improved thanks to a sizeable government investment in recent years. All of our classrooms are equipped with the latest technology and are designed to enhance teaching and learning.
Specialist vocational areas such as Sport, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Catering have been well thought out, with a fantastic Sports Hall and gym, modern, airy salons and industry standard kitchens, with a successful commercial restaurant and bistro, Farringtons.
We care about your health and wellbeing and with this in mind; all students can use our extensive sports and fitness facilities, whether as part of a 5-a-Side Football team, or a work out in the Gym.
The College has a fantastic Learning Resource Centre, which houses an extensive library of resources, computer suite and zoned study areas.
Studying hard can make you very hungry! Our refectory is open at convenient hours throughout the day, and provides a wide range of meal options.

Although your studies are given the utmost priority at College, we accept that you may want to browse the internet for other reasons, and keep up with your friends on social networking sites. The Cyber Café has computers which will allow you to do this.
If you want a new look, or you’re in need of some relaxation and rejuvenation, visit our Hair and Beauty Salons, which can offer you a wide range of hair and beauty treatments at a fraction of the cost on the high street.
Did you know that the College has a stylish, modern and highly acclaimed restaurant and bistro? Why not bring your family along for a delicious silver service meal or a more relaxed lunch in our bistro.
In order to provide students with a quiet, relaxed environment where they can work on assignments or revision, we have created a Work Zone, which is always manned by a member of our teaching staff.
We aim to ensure that our College is safe, friendly and accessible to all. For more information about what we do to make sure that every student has a positive experience whilst studying here, please contact Student Services on 01282 440209
