Pre-Professional programmes

A step in the right direction...

Our Pre-Professional programmes are innovative, targeted courses which you can take alongside your regular studies.
They are aimed at helping you to make an informed choice about your future, whilst encouraging breadth and depth of study and research in your chosen career path.

Entry onto medical related degrees such as Medicine, Veterinary Science, Dentistry and Pharmacy, and degree programmes such as Law, Teaching and Journalism is extremely competitive and therefore only the brightest students, who can demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for their subject, plus an indication of dedication by undertaking work experience, will gain the top places.

Our first Pre-Professional programme for Medicine, Pre-Med has been highly successful. In 2010 14 Pre-Med students gained places on health related degrees and in 2011 we more than doubled this number, helping students gain places in Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry, Pharmacy, Audiology and Veterinary Science amongst other programmes. We are confident that our latest Pre-Professional programmes for Teaching and Law will prove successful this year and hope to launch our Pre-Professional Programme for Journalism in 2011 depending on student demand.
