At Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form we are dedicated to ensuring that your start to College life is exciting, challenging, stimulating and enjoyable! Although we offer the benefits of a large sixth form, we are still small enough to offer you all the personal attention you will need to nurture your success.
We take extra care to ensure that your journey from school to College is successful. Our Student Services team will meet with the Head of Year 11 at your school to discuss your needs before you join us.
You will also be invited to one of our New Student Days. These allow you to come into College not long after you have finished school and are the ideal opportunity for you to see what life at College will be like. You will meet your tutors and have a chance to sample the programmes you have picked. You will also meet with friends - and make new ones!
If you are thinking about joining us next year, read our latest In Touch newsletter to find out what students have been up to so far this term!

Francesca joined Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form from Pendle Vale College choosing to undertake a challenging programme of A Levels, including English Language and Literature, Sociology and Photography and AS Levels in Textiles, Critical Thinking and Media. She gained outstanding results, 2 A*s, 2 As and 2 Bs.
With ambitions of working as a Journalist and Photographer, Francesca decided to stay on at Nelson and Colne College to complete a Foundation Art and Design (FAD) course. This is a Pre-Degree programme aimed at helping students to further develop their skills in their chosen specialism prior to university.
Francesca really honed her photography skills on the FAD course and has now progressed to the University of Liverpool to read English Language and English Literature.
