Student

Nelson and Colne College values every student. We recognise that students of all abilities require support if they are to achieve their maximum potential. In addition, we recognise that each individual student has specific needs. It is important that we work with you to raise your aspirations and then to achieve them.

There are gifted students with their own individual requirements that can be developed within the classroom environment but also in specialised workshops, via extension studies or educational visits. Our results demonstrate that the College works successfully with the talented student.

Aiming high is also about working with students who may not have considered University or certain occupations because they perceived them as being beyond their abilities. The college, through subject lessons, tutorials, workshops and individual tuition, will stretch the horizons of each individual student to show them greater possibilities.

Additionality

As an A Level student of Nelson and Colne College you will have the opportunity to choose from a range of extra qualifications, in addition to your main programme. Once you have enrolled at the College, we will discuss these options with you and match you to the most suitable qualification.

Ofsted Inspectors praised the college for the ways that it works with each individual student to achieve maximum success through individual learning plans and individual target setting.
