In the recent Ofsted report, the colleges apprenticeship scheme was highly praised with inspectors stating that the college had, “good systems and procedures in work-based learning”.

What will I gain from an Apprenticeship at N&CC?

Students on an Apprenticeship receive support from both the college and his employer in order to help them complete their chosen programme. An Apprenticeship is an ideal choice for those wanting to earn while they learn. Apprentices can train for a skilled job, learn a trade and gain valuable work experience. All apprentices have their own Apprenticeship Training Plan.

Will I get paid?

If you are in employment, you will be paid a salary that reflects your skills, experience, ability and the going rate for the job. This will be a minimum of £82.01 per week.

What types of Apprenticeship are available?

Apprenticeships or work based learning can be entered at either Foundation (L2) or Advanced (L3) level to suit your skills and abilities. It allows you to work towards National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) which have been designed for industry by industry. As part of your Foundation and Advanced Apprenticeship you will also be given training in key skills.

What are key skills?

Key skills are an essential part of the Apprenticeship programme and help to support your vocational skills. They include: using numbers, using IT, communication and problem solving.

What can I do with my Apprenticeship?

An L2 can be a stepping stone to a L3 Apprenticeship.
An L3 Apprenticeship can be a stepping stone to a Higher Education .
