Beauty Therapy students at Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form have presented Pendleside Hospice with a cheque for £132!

As a part of their Level 3 programme, Beauty Therapy students at the College are tasked with organising and managing their own event, promoting Beauty services to potential clients. After considering the sort of event they could plan, the students hosted a specialist pamper evening including Hot Stone Therapy, Indian Head Massage and Electrical Facials at The Oaks Hotel in Burnley.

During the event, the students sold raffle tickets to the visitors, raising an impressive £132, which they decided to donate to Pendleside Hospice. Fundraiser for Pendleside Hospice, Samantha Bracewell visited the College to collect the donation and said, “Thank you to all students and staff at Nelson and Colne College who were involved in raising £132 in their ‘Ladies Night’ raffle in aid of Pendleside Hospice. The cost of providing care to people in the local area, who are diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, constantly increases each year and currently costs £3.5 million per year. This means £2.5. million has to be raised locally from events such as this one. We are grateful for the on-going support we receive from the local community”
