Former students build on their past success at Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form

Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form is thrilled to learn of the on-going success of its former students, as they go on to graduate from some of the country’s best universities and make a start in fantastic careers.

As a small and caring college, Nelson and Colne is able to offer personal support and guidance which ensures its students’ future success. With a long-standing tradition of excellence spanning whole generations of families, the College is able to offer all the benefits of a large sixth form, whilst still being small enough to offer personal support and individual guidance to ensure each student’s success.

We were thrilled to learn of some of our former students’ graduations this summer, including Steffen Cruz, who has graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class Honours Degree in Physics. His continuing success means that he has been offered a place at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, to study for a PhD in Experimental and Theoretical Nuclear Physics. Another former student graduating this year is Natalie Hall, who has just graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Molecular Biology from the University of St. Andrews, where she also won a medal for high academic attainment throughout her course. Natalie is now planning to complete a PhD in Neuroscience.

This is just a small selection of the outstanding achievements that our former students have gone on to enjoy at university, after leaving us with firm academic foundations in place.

In addition, many students have secured employment with top businesses across the UK and have achieved their dream careers. Such as former A Level student Tom Pickles, who has secured a job with the Royal Shakespeare Company – his first job since leaving top drama school, Rose Bruford!

The College is incredibly proud of what its students go on to achieve once they have left and is thrilled that the young people of Pendle are continuing the represent our region in such a positive light. There is no doubt that the alumni of Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form will go on to be world leaders in their field of expertise.

The College is keen to keep in touch with its former students. If you are a former student, join the College’s Alumni page on Facebook and get back in touch with old school friends, or if you’d like to share your story, please call the marketing team on 01282 440 371 or s.forrest@nelson.ac.uk
