Students and staff at the College have been busy raising funds for Sport Relief.

Working together, a mixture of Business and Sport students organised a full afternoon of fund raising events, ranging from a sponge toss (less of a trauma for those involved when Friday dawned bright and warm!), a car wash, a cake stand, a 5-a-side football tournament and of course, the sport relief mile, which took place round the perimeter of the College’s playing field. Students and staff from across the College completed the Sport Mile which ran throughout the afternoon, including new College Principal Amanda Melton!

The College is keen to help raise funds for this worthwhile cause, which helps Comic Relief to help people living in difficult circumstances both in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Justine Thatcher, Curriculum Leader for Business said “The fund raising events have been arranged by a mixture of our Business and PE students. They have worked really hard to create a really fun and varied range of fundraising events, from a Sponge Toss, 5-a-sie football tournament, car wash, cake stall, PS3 ‘Beat the Stig’ competition, to a Sport Relief mile run. Our Local MP Andrew Stephenson also came to watch some of the events and spent time with students and staff from across the College, who have been out in the sunshine enjoying the competitions and raising lots of money for the charity. We have already collected over £375 and with money still to be counted we expect to break the £400 marker!”
