Course Overview

In your first year, you will learn core skills studying units such as computer systems, communication technologies, computer networking, and employability skills for IT, programming, web design, animation, organisational systems  and security.

In the second year, you will learn about procedural programming, troubleshooting and repair, technical support, managing networks, computer systems architecture, digital graphics, e-commerce, project planning and information systems.

How will the course be assessed?

You will be assessed via internal and external assessments that will be broken into various activities, which include presentations, group work and press conferences. Some units will be exam based and others will be assessed via assignment portfolios.




Materials and other information

Students should bring in a USB to back up their work daily. There will be opportunities to attend various trips and visits to places of interest such as BT, the NEC Arena, Cadburys World, Manchester Airport, Blackpool, Trafford Centre and Coca Cola.
