Course Overview

Students aged 19+ wanting to return to education and are keen to progress to university entering in to careers within the nursing/health sector. Such as adult, child and mental health nursing, midwifery, radiography, disability studies, paramedic practise and psychology.

Human Physiology

Units of study may include:
• Introduction to Cell Biology
• Aspects of Human Physiology
• Anatomy and Physiology of the Human Skeleton and Muscles

Professional Healthcare Practice
Units of study may include:
• Introduction to Professional Healthcare Service and Practice
• Social and Community Welfare Provision
• Psychological Issues Impacting on Health needs

Study Skills
Units of study may include:
• Essay writing
• Presentation skills
• Research skills
• Reflective practice

How will the course be assessed?

Learning is assessed in a variety of methods to prepare you for study at university. These may include an extended essay, presentations, timed assessments under controlled conditions and report writing.
