This programme is offered in partnership with the University of Cumbria has been designed for those students already working in the legal and related sectors who wish to upskill and enhance their knowledge in order to progress in their careers. It will also appeal to non-law students looking to pursue a career in a paralegal role without necessarily wishing to qualify as a solicitor or barrister. It will provide such students with the underpinning legal knowledge and skills, combined with work based learning opportunities to develop the competence and professionalism to work in a variety of different legal contexts.
Students will attend one day and evening per week for the full-time route and will undertake a placement of 120 hours per academic year alongside their academic studies where they are not already in relevant employment.
Part time students will take a selection or modules from the full time programme.

A range of assessments are used within the programme, including portfolios, case studies, reflections and presentations.

All HE enrolments are subject to the College’s Higher Education Student Agreement.
The Foundation Degree will provide opportunities for students to continue with their studies with a two-year top-up to achieve a qualifying LLB (Hons).
Students will be well placed to undertake employment within a variety of roles within the legal, business and public sectors including within court services, insurance, banking, local authorities, social services prison and probation services.
