This programme is aimed at students who have completed a Level 3 course in Business or a related subject, who are looking to study a Higher Education programme locally to progress their career within this sector.
Please note that students without the formal entry criteria but with relevant experience will also be considered.
This programme has a number of different subject specialisms that result in different award titles. The title of the award made will depend on the modules completed. The titles of the awards available are:
- HNC Business
- HND Business (Accounting and Finance)
- HND Business (Business Management)
- HND Business (Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management)
- HND Business (Human Resource Management)
- HND Business (Marketing)
- HND Business (Operations Management)
- HND Business (Law)
Students will attend one day and evening per week for the full-time route.
Part time students will take a selection or modules from the full time programme.
What will I learn?
You will study units covering a wide range of Business topics, to give you a broad understanding of how businesses operate and develop in a dynamic marketplace.
Modules will normally include:
- Business and the Business Environment
- Marketing Essentials
- Human Resource Management
- Management and Operations
- Management Accounting
- Managing a Successful Business Project
Plus, a selection of optional units dependent upon the subject pathway.
How will the course be assessed?
A series of written and practical work is assessed by your tutors and will determine your overall grade.

This course can offer opportunities for students to continue their study of Business at degree level as a one year top-up qualification. The practical nature of the course also means skills are developed to help you begin a career in the Business sector.
