What will I learn?
You will develop your ability to speak in familiar holiday situations. By the end of the course you will be confident when expressing yourself in these situations and when introducing yourself to others. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the life and culture of Spain.
The topics covered will include:
- Discussing yourself, your family and your hobbies
- Using local services such as the doctor and chemist
- Developing vocabulary for entertainment and transport
- Everyday expressions, phrases and idioms
There will also be the opportunity to explore other topics that you and other members of the class are interested in. As you already have some awareness of the language, you will be given the opportunity to consolidate your knowledge and widen your vocabulary in these topic areas.
You will practice speaking with other members of the class and the teacher, take part in role-plays and listen to comprehension exercises. Videos and audio clips will be used in addition to a wide range of printed resources. You will also continue to develop your reading and writing skills.
At the end of the course you will be well prepared for holidays in Spanish speaking countries or preliminary conversations with Spanish speakers at home. You can continue to study the language by progressing onto a higher level course.
