This programme is aimed to support people who may be already involved in community projects or new to community projects. Learners are encouraged to attend an introductory session before the course begins to find out about the course and ask any questions.

Learning is highly individualised for each group and after an initial discussion with your tutor you will be able to choose all or some of the following topics.

- Becoming a Constituted Group
- Roles, Responsibilities and Team Working
- How to Write a Project Proposal
- Fundraising and Budgeting
- Creating a Publicity Plan
- Health and Safety
- Using the Disclosure and Barring Service
- Data Protection
- Introduction to Mental Health
- Introduction to Equality and Diversity
There will be an opportunity to put your learning into practice via zoom calls with peers and with your tutor.
How will the course be assessed?
Through online learning resources by accessing our Virtual Learning Environment Moodle.
One to one contact weekly with your personal tutor, via phone call or video conferencing.
Online flexible learning with the opportunity to engage in live online sessions with your tutor.
An expected minimum commitment would be half an hour per week and the activities for all topics are estimated to take between 6 – 12 hours.
You will gain a digital badge for completion of all topics. A printed LAL certificate of completion can be arranged when the college sites have reopened.
