41 week course
This programme is offered in partnership with the University of Cumbria and is aimed at those who want to improve on their Foundation Degree or HND in and move into a role in Engineering with more responsibility and better prospects along with potentially a higher earning potential.
The course comprises four taught modules (three of which are compusory in all pathways) and a double module project.
Attendance is one day and evening per week.
You need not select a pathway in your application, this will be added later.
What will I learn?
Both awards normally include the following common modules:
• Project (inc. Project Management)
• The Professional Engineer
• Engineering Systems Design and Simulation
• Engineering Innovation. Creativity, Entrepreneurship and Problem Solving
In addition to the common modules, the BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Engineering will normally include one of the following:
• Advanced Materials Science
• Manufacturing Operations Management
In addition to the common modules, the BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering will normally include one of the following:
• Microprocessor Applications
• Electrical Power
How will the course be assessed?
Assessment is based on a combination of project work, report writing, written assignments, presentations and examinations. Examinations make up a maximum of 34% of the assessment by value.
