Course Overview

The purpose of this course is to give individuals either currently working in, or intending to work in, adult health and social care an awareness of a range of common health conditions. This qualification aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of: various common health conditions monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions. This course will equip you with a knowledge and skills in relation to an awareness of the support required for a range of common health conditions, including cardiovascular and respiratory disease and physical disability. You will also explore other common health conditions associated with adult ill health.

What will I learn?

Your programme/course will cover the following:
• Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions
• Understand Cardiovascular Disease
• Understand Respiratory Disease
• Stroke Awareness
• Diabetes Awareness
• Understand Physical Disability

How will the course be assessed?

Learners attend weekly sessions and engage in learning activities to support the learning outcomes. Progressing each week, learning will be structured towards completing both individual and group activities to increase knowledge and understanding which will be assessed using a range of methods including:

Discussions
Research
Case Studies
Role Play
Activities

Once enrolled onto the course via LAL enrolment, you will be contacted by your tutor with venue information and days/times for attendance.

Progression and Careers

Regular submission of work that will be assessed and reviewed weekly.
You will receive feedback in order to further develop their knowledge
You will assess your starting points at start of the course and throughout the course against your individual learning objectives. This allows you to identify how much you have progressed and where you might need to do further study or research.
You will also be supported to set an individual target(s) for the course based on personal goals and aspirations.
