Vocational Science: Crime Scene Investigation Demonstration – 6pm, 6.30pm and 7pm

The police and law courts rely heavily on evidence extracted by scientists in the forensic industry. This virtual session will enable you to gain insight into this course further, you’ll also be able to take part in a Crime Scene Investigation demonstration. This is an interesting and challenging vocational route where you will study forensic evidence collection and analysis, forensic fire investigation and criminal investigation practices.

Introduction to Sociology and Virtual Tour of Pendle Building – 6pm, 6.30pm and 7pm

This live virtual session will consist of an introduction to Sociology, the contents covered on the programme and what to expect throughout your time at the College. You will also have the opportunity to have a virtual tour of the Pendle building, which is where you will spend the majority of your time while studying Sociology.

Introduction to A level Chemistry – 6pm and 7pm

These are exciting sessions which will be delivered live and virtually. You will gain an insight into A Level Chemistry and what is involved in this course alongside being able to see some exciting demonstrations of Practical Chemistry put into practice.

Introduction to Pre-Med – 6pm, 6.30pm and 7pm

Our Pre-Professional Programmes are unique and innovative schemes, which you can take alongside your A Level studies.

They are career-focused programmes aimed at helping you to make an informed choice about your future, while encouraging breadth and depth of study and research in your chosen career path. This live session will be a discussion with the dedicated tutor and will enable you to ask any questions you may have about the Pre-Med programme.

Ethical dilemmas (Trolley Problem) – 6pm, 6.30pm and 7pm

Join our trolley problem – making ethical decisions regarding multiple scenarios virtual session – part of our Business, Sociology and Humanities Department.

Introduction to Vocational IT/Digital T Level – 6pm, 6.30pm and 7pm

Are you interested in finding out more about IT or our Digital T Level? This virtual session will give you an insight into what the programme is all about, the course content and placement opportunities available. There’s also an exciting opportunity for you to take a virtual tour of the IT and Digital facilities alongside taking part in some live demonstrations – don’t miss out!

In this live virtual session you will gain an understanding and insight into the Creative A Level programmes, course content and placement opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to take a virtual tour of the facilities and take part in some demonstrations carried out by tutors.

Are you interested in Engineering? Would you like to find out more about our courses and the facilities we have on offer? Join us live on the 5th October at our Engineering virtual live session where you’ll have the opportunity to virtually tour the Engineering facilities and experience a live Mazak CNC machine demonstration.

Virtual tour of the Laboratories and the Science and Maths facilities – 6.15pm and 6.45pm

This live virtual session will be an opportunity to see inside our College laboratories, the Science and Maths division and also your chance to learn more about Science and Maths subjects alongside the College as a whole.

Introduction to Vocational Art and Media – 6.15pm, 6.45pm and 7.15pm

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to find out more about Vocational Art and Media, delivered at Nelson and Colne College. In this virtual session you’ll recieve an informative overview of the subject, course content and placement opportunities.

You’ll also have the opportunity to take a virtual tour of our facilities and watch a live demonstration from one of our College tutors.

This live virtual event will be an informative session which will provide you with an insight into what you can expect to study on the A Level History course, delivered at Nelson and Colne College. The tutor will talk you through the course content and enrichment opportunities alongside being able to answer any questions you may have.

Introduction to A Level Biology – Live Biology Demonstration – 6.30pm and 7pm
These are exciting sessions which will be delivered live virtually. You will gain an insight into A Level Chemistry and what is involved in the course alongside being able to see some exciting demonstrations of A Level Biology put into practice.

Introduction to A-Level Ancient History – 6.45pm and 7.45pm

This live virtual event will be an informative session which will provide you with an insight into what you can expect to study on the A Level Ancient History course, delivered at Nelson and Colne College. The tutor will talk you through the course content and enrichment opportunities alongside being able to answer any questions you may have.

Health and Social Care Level 3 – Live Virtual Tour and Introduction to Working in ELHT – 5.30pm and 6.20pm

This exciting session will provide prospective students with a live virtual tour of a simulated Health and Social Care room and also be very informative in providing an ELHT (East Lancashire Healthcare Trust) overview of the Cadets and job opportunities that are available if studying this programme.

Sport – Virtual Tour of the Facilities and Competition – 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm and 7.30pm

This virtual session will provide students with an introduction to the Sport and Sport Science division, with an exciting virtual tour of the sports lab facilities and the Batak wall, which used regularly throughout the programme.

Students can expect to also undertake a practical task as part of a competition using the Homecourt App. This is a free to download app that students will require a smartphone or ipad for and need a ball, for example: a football, tennis ball or basketball.

Hair and Beauty – Live Demonstration of Long Hair Styling – 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm and 7.30pm

If you’re interested in finding out more about our Hairdressing programme at Accrington and Rossendale College then this is the virtual session for you.

While you’ll find out all about the programme itself, the course content and the facilities available, you’ll also be able to access an exclusive live demonstration of long hair styling (which you’ll be able to repeat on yourself and others after the demo), delivered by our Hairdressing tutors.

Hair and Beauty – Live Demonstrations of Balayage Techniques – 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm and 7.30pm

If you’re interested in finding out more about our Hairdressing and Beauty courses this live virtual session is for you. Throughout this session you’ll learn not only more about our programmes on offer but also have a fantastic opportunity to see a live demonstration delivered by course tutors, of Balayage Techniques put in to practice, one of the most popular colouring techniques at the moment.
