“The quality of the teaching at NCC is the best aspect of the college”, according to Durham University bound student Bethanie Reeves.

Former West Craven High School student Bethanie, 18, from Barnoldswick, is progressing on to study International Relations after achieving A*A*B in her Government and Politics, Sociology and History A Level exams.

Ambitious Bethanie has a broad interest in politics and is hopeful of working at the heart of the Civil Service in the future.

Bethanie said: “I’m so happy – ecstatic! Politics at A Level has been my favourite subject but I didn’t just want to do a straight Politics degree, I wanted something broader. My History teacher recommended this degree to me as you can link History and Sociology into it too, which was really appealing.

“The overall experience of NCC has been enjoyable. The best aspect of NCC is the quality of the teaching – it is very good and the teachers are always willing to be helpful and supportive.

“My qualifications will help me as I can advance into Higher Education and make me appealing for a wide range of job opportunities. I would love to work in either the Home Office or the Foreign Office in the future.”

In its 2017/18 results, NCC achieved a 99% pass rate at A Level and a 100% pass rate in advanced vocational courses.

The college is top in the country for 16-18 learner achievement at all levels, number one in the country for A Levels, based on progress scores, and the number one college in the country for overall Apprenticeship achievement at all ages and levels.

Government data also places NCC as the best college in the area for vocational courses, based on progress scores, while it is also the best college in Lancashire for student satisfaction, according to the FE Choices Learner Satisfaction Survey.
