We are pleased to announce exciting improvements to our campus including plans for a full sized sports pitch, constructed from the latest artificial sports surface materials, and a new state-of-the-art science wing.

The College was successful in gaining Government funding to support its highly successful Science, Maths, Engineering and Sports programmes.

The College already houses impressive facilities for sport, including a 6 court sports hall with sprung floor and a modern gym, however, the addition of a fully flood-lit all-weather 4G pitch will further enhance the sport facilities meaning that students and the local community can enjoy facilities which match their sporting aspirations!

In 2012, the College was awarded STEM Assured® status by the New Engineering Foundation (NEF), which is an industry-led kite-mark for excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). It is the only college in the area to have achieved this accolade. A full refurbishment of the Science wing will encompass an exclusive STEM suite, new laboratories, maths classrooms and student study areas meaning that the College will be one of the leading further education centres in the country for STEM subjects.

College Principal, Amanda Melton said, “I was delighted to learn that we had been successful in gaining funding to make further improvements to our campus. We already have a great campus at Nelson and Colne, but with this additional investment we will be able to ensure that our students benefit from truly outstanding resources, which will inspire them to even greater success.”
