Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form is pleased to celebrate the graduation of students from it’s Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning, accredited by Lancaster University.
Attending the graduation ceremony at The Great hall, Lancaster University on the 21st July 2011, were students Julie Appleby, Faye Denwood,Tracy Ensby, Mellanie McCallum and Lauren McLeod. All of the students have shown real dedication and commitment to completing the course and are very deserving of their success.
One student, Tracy Ensby said that she has enjoyed all aspects of the course, but particularly the maths and creative subject as they allowed her to link theory to practice. On completion of the Foundation Degree, Tracy will complete a one year ‘top-up’ course at the University of Cumbria, where she will hopefully gain a BEd Hons with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). She said, “Of you want to teach, don’t hesitate to join the course. There is so much support. You are given lots of opportunities to voice your opinions and develop all the skills you’ll need. The support I have been given is exceptional and I’d like to thank all of our tutors who have helped me to achieve.”
