Pendle Leisure Trust and Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form came together to carry out the 2014 Pendle Inter-School Athletics Day!
For the last five years, Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form and Pendle Leisure Trust’s Sports Development Team have joined forces to arrange, plan and implement the Pendle Inter-Schools Athletics Day.
Neil Stewart from the Sports Development Team designed the day’s events and time schedule. He then handed over to the College’s Sport students, who made sure everything went as smoothly as possible.
Students from 25 Pendle schools joined in the fun-filled day, engaging in a variety of challenging tasks from track races to javelin throwing and Boccia. Pendle Inter-School Athletics Day celebrates health and fitness in all forms, encouraging every participating child to consistently strive toward increasing their own athleticism.
Neil Stewart, Pendle School Games Organiser, said, “It was a fantastic day. There were over 400 children who competed in 18 events, including 3 Paralympic events. The Sport students were a credit to the College and ensured that the day ran smoothly and efficiently. My thanks to them all for a job well done!”
