Families are invited to make the most of a jam-packed day of fun with Lancashire Adult Learning and Nelson and Colne College.
The annual Family Fun Day will take place between 11am and 3pm at Nelson and Colne College on Saturday 8th July and those attending can expect a huge array of free entertainment. This includes a stilt walker, balloon modeller, a bouncy castle and giant outdoor games, as well as a visit from Frozen fairy tale stars Elsa and Anna and a dance performance by talented students from Colne Primet Academy.
There will be a selection of family learning activities to take part in too, such as a K’Nex challenge, arts and crafts, tin can alley, a treasure hunt, and the spaghetti challenge. Visitors will also be able to pick up a copy of LAL’s brand new course guide for the Autumn and enrol onto new courses.
Stalls confirmed for the big day will include everything from handcrafted accessories to homemade cards through to savoury snacks and sweet treats, and the whole family can have a go at kicking a Burnley FC in the Community football through a pie. Food will be available to buy on the day from a barbecue and ice cream van.
Lancashire Adult Learning’s Associate Principal Tracey Baron said: “The Family Fun Day is a great occasion for families from across Lancashire to get together and enjoy a day out with free activities. We have a fantastic line up of activities planned to take part in, some excellent entertainment to enjoy and a broad selection of stalls to browse.
“There will also be a range of free family learning activities on offer, to include arts and crafts and ICT, for visitors to sample.
“As always our new course guide is packed with a wide range of courses to help adults across the county learn a new skill, enhance their social life, or develop their career prospects – and this event provides adults with the opportunity to speak to our expert staff and enrol onto courses. We very much look forward to welcoming families on the day!”
