Star student Charles Choyce could not have wished for a better A Level Results Day – walking away from College life armed with four A* grades.

The 18year-old, a former Colne Park High School student, has been left “over the moon” after securing his dream grades in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry and a place at the University of Warwick.

Now, Charles has urged students about to start their year as an AS or A2 students to persevere and work hard, and hopes his story shows how determination and focus will stand you in good stead for the future.

He said: “This has taken a lot of hard work, a lot of late nights and a lot of coffee, and it has definitely been worth it! I am still taking in my results! What I would say to students is knuckle down and it will pay off – you have the Summer holidays to relax.

“Being at Nelson and Colne College has been a really good experience and I feel like I’ve matured as well. You can talk to the teachers openly and they give you so much support.

“I don’t think I could have had a better start for University, and by studying Maths I have a multitude of options for the future – including working in finance.”

Once again Nelson and Colne College staff and students are celebrating a 100% pass rate and a rise in top grades.
