Nelson and Colne College (NCC) are once again celebrating the outstanding success of their students once again with the announcement of this year’s GCSE results.

With a 48.2% pass rate, more than double the national average, students at the Pendle based College have been more than twice as successful in securing GCSE English at Grade 4 or above compared to peers at average Further Education (FE) colleges.

The success continued in GCSE Maths, where NCC students have been over three times more successful in attaining Grade 4 or above compared to peers at average FE colleges. An impressive 43.7% of learners resitting their GCSE Maths achieved a Grade 4 or above, a significant increase on the national average.

Principal and CEO Lisa O’Loughlin said “I am so proud of all our learners receiving their GCSE results. Our students have continued to exceed their own expectations and are now able to progress in their studies within our industry-connected programmes, or onto careers within their chosen sectors. Congratulations to all of you.”
