Two Hairdressing students from Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form shaved two peoples’ heads for Macmillan Cancer Support charity!

The College has a long history of supporting charities and encouraging its students to independently do the same. Two Hairdressing students recently decided to support Macmillan Cancer Support, shaving the heads of two people at Wilkinson in Nelson.

Both students have repeatedly shown their warm and compassionate natures, supporting a variety of charitable causes.

Wynne Cawdron, 37, had her head shaved last October by her fellow Hairdressing students. As a group, they decided to fundraise for Pendleside Hospice. Every student paid £10, and everyone shaved a small amount of her hair off. They also ran a sponsorship and altogether the event raised over £600.

Alexandra Ingham, 23, from Marsden Heights, did a charity perm last weekend, raising over £1000 in sponsorship for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Between them, Alexandra and Wynne raised over £3000 altogether, which will really make a difference for Macmillan Cancer Support!
